We are currently recruiting for a Chef to join our team at Oakmeadow Primary School, Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, SY3 0NU . This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic chef to work within a school environment, delivering nutritious and delicious meals to pupils and staff while enjoying a term-time only working pattern. What's in it for you? £18,709.80 per annum 30 hours per week Monday to Friday working pattern 38 working weeks per year (term time only) School holidays off Life assurance and pension scheme Access to our Employee Benefits app, including online GP access, Employee Assistance Programme, discounts, supermarket savings and more Training and development opportunities Apprenticeship schemes available Career progression within a global organisation Supportive and inclusive working environment What you'll be doing Preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality meals for pupils and staff Supporting the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen Ensuring meals are prepared in line with menus, nutritional standards, and portion controls Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management Assisting with stock control, ordering, deliveries, and stock rotation Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organised, and compliant with all food safety regulations Completing food safety records and due diligence documentation Supporting the wider catering team to deliver an excellent dining experience About you Previous experience working as a Chef within a catering environment Relevant catering or culinary qualification is desirable Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards Excellent organisational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Passion for delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service Positive attitude and strong communication skills Important Requirements Successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencing employment At Aramark UK, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone is valued and empowered to thrive.
