Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

SOCOTEC has an immediate opening for a Graduate (Staff) Geotechnical Engineer in Houston, Texas. Coordinate and schedule geotechnical subsurface evaluations Perform boring mark-outs for utility clearance and supervise drill rig crews Classify soils and log borings, test pits, and cores Conduct floor level surveys and document distressed structures Assign laboratory testing and assist with geotechnical report preparation Compile laboratory test data and perform geotechnical analyses Conduct calculations for shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, and settlement Education B.S. in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering (required) M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering or related field (preferred) Required Skills Entry-level to up to 2 years of geotechnical consulting experience (preferred) Understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering principles Strong verbal and written communication skills Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good organizational abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively Valid driver's license and clean driving record Competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) For more information, please visit www.socotec.us Job Type: Full-Time, in office All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
