Model Designer

Thinking Machines is seeking a Model Designer to enhance the interaction between users and AI models in their San Francisco office. In this role, you will collaborate closely with researchers to influence model behavior, ensuring that user intent is understood and effectively addressed. Your responsibilities will include designing how models initiate actions, seek feedback, and build trust with users over time. You will also focus on creating adaptable defaults that align with individual user preferences and values. The position requires a creative mindset, with an emphasis on design and technology, as well as a deep understanding of user experience. Strong collaboration skills are essential, as you will work with various teams, including research, product, design, and engineering, from initial concepts to prototype development.
