Armed Security Officer

Ascension is seeking an Armed Security Officer for its Via Christi, St. Francis facility in Wichita, KS. In this full-time role, the officer will work day shifts from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with a schedule that includes rotating holidays and weekends. The primary responsibilities involve maintaining a visible armed presence to deter violence, responding to life-safety threats, and de-escalating high-tension situations to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff. The officer will also lead emergency response efforts during critical incidents and audit safety infrastructure to identify and report security hazards. Candidates must obtain a Security Guard license within six months of hire and possess a valid Kansas driver's license. A high school diploma or equivalent experience is required, along with preferred certifications in Basic Life Support and Management of Aggressive Behavior. This position is suitable for individuals with strong communication skills and a background in law enforcement or security.
