Legal Consultant - GMSLA

The role involves preparing, assessing and bargaining agreements related to the Global Master Securities Lending Agreement and associated trading and collateral paperwork. The consultant will also advise front‑office and operations teams on legal and commercial questions that arise in securities‑lending transactions. Coordination with risk, compliance and outside counsel is required to ensure that all documentation complies with regulatory and internal policies. Maintaining and updating standard contract templates and negotiation guides is part of the job to increase consistency and speed. Candidates must have extensive practical experience negotiating and drafting GMSLA documents, as well as a solid understanding of securities‑lending and margin‑collateral processes. At least three years of post‑qualification work in this area, or an equivalent track record as a senior negotiator, is expected. The position is offered on a remote basis, with the possibility of on‑site or hybrid work if the client’s needs dictate. It is ideal for lawyers who are confident negotiators, clear communicators, and comfortable collaborating with trading and operations groups in a rapid‑tempo setting.
