Position Summary
The Senior Director, Market Research, Strategy & Competitive Intelligence is a senior commercial leadership role embedded within the Brand organization and reporting directly to Commercial Brand Executives. This role is accountable for driving brand-level and portfolio strategy through insights, analytics, and competitive intelligence, ensuring decisions are grounded in a deep understanding of customers, competitors, and market dynamics. The role serves as a strategic partner to Brand Leadership.
Organizational Positioning
Reports to: Commercial Brand Executives
Key Stakeholders: Brand Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, R&D, Finance Operates embedded within brand teams
Key Responsibilities
Serve as primary strategic partner to Brand Executives and contribute to brand decision-making
Lead primary and secondary market research planning and execution across HCP, payer, and patient segments
Drive competitive intelligence covering pipelines, clinical, regulatory and market dynamics
Translate insights into actionable brand strategy, positioning, and lifecycle planning
Support forecasting, scenario planning, and long-range strategy
Partner cross-functionally to align insights with execution
Lead and develop primary and secondary market research and competitive intelligence capability
Qualifications & Experience
7-10+ years in pharmaceutical primary and secondary market research, strategy, forecasting, and competitive intel-ligence
Experience partnering with Brand Leaders and senior stakeholders
Experience leading cross-functional projects and deliverables
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization and lifecycle management
MBA or advanced degree preferred
