Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Descript is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Infrastructure to join their remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company's platform, which includes GCP, Kubernetes, and the GPU fleet for cloud export. Daily tasks involve contributing to model training and serving, ensuring the reliability of systems, and making architectural decisions that impact the entire infrastructure. You will also be involved in on-call duties, focusing on improving system responsiveness and reducing noise in alerts. The position requires a strong understanding of cost management in engineering, as well as security practices related to identity, access, and supply-chain integrity. The ideal candidate will have experience with infrastructure-as-code and be able to create clear documentation for others. This role is suited for someone who enjoys collaborating with various engineering teams to understand their needs and build effective solutions.
