English Teacher 7-12 (Blytheville)

The English Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality English Language Arts instruction to students in grades 7–12. This role includes designing and implementing engaging, standards-aligned lessons, assessing student learning, and fostering a supportive, inclusive, and academically rigorous classroom environment that develops critical reading, writing, and analytical skills. Key Responsibilities Curriculum and Instruction Plan and deliver effective lessons aligned with the Arkansas English Language Arts Standards for grades 7–12. Integrate writing strategies, instruction, and relevant texts to support language development and critical thinking. Utilize a range of instructional methods, including technology and media, to enhance literacy and language instruction. Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and adjustments.​ Classroom Management Establish and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and respects all students. Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote student engagement and discipline. Collaboration and Professional Development Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons and share best practices. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies. Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address concerns. Other Responsibilities (As Needed) Supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities. Write letters of recommendation for students. Additional tasks as requested to support student achievement, school culture, and team collaboration. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, English Language Arts, or related field required. Licenses: Standard Arkansas Teaching License in English or English Language Arts 7-12, or eligible for licensure through reciprocity or an Alternative Licensure Program (ALP). Experience: Prior teaching experience at the [secondary] level preferred. Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks. Ongoing participation in professional development activities as required by ADE. Strong content knowledge in English; proficiency in integrating technology into instruction. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience teaching in a KIPP or other high-performing charter school environment preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus. Compensation Teacher salaries will be based on the experience, degree level, and licensure per the SY 2025-26 Salary Schedule .
