Civil Engineering Internship - Substation and Power Generation

Job Description As a summer 2027 engineering student intern with Olsson's Substation and Power Generation (Power Delivery) Team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. Depending on your area of interest you could learn things like: CAD design processes and standards Physical arrangement and protection for medium voltage >1kV, High voltage >69,000V, and Extra high voltage >230kV systems. Substation Structure and Foundation design Interpreting geotechnical information Equipment mounting, basic steel member analysis, basic steel node analysis Basic foundation design principles and analysis Qualifications You are passionate about: Working collaboratively with others. Having ownership in the work you do. Using your talents to positively affect communities. You bring to the team: Strong communication skills Ability to contribute and work well on a team Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong attention to detail Strong problem-solving and math skills #LI-DNP Additional Information Olsson specializes in engineering and design, client advisory services, planning, field services, and environmental.
