Chef 40 Hours Per Week | Working 5 Days Over 7 | £13.05 Per Hour Shift Pattern Early Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm Late Shift: 10:30am - 7:00pm We are currently recruiting for a Chef to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Strensall, YO32 5SW . This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated chef to work within a busy military catering environment, preparing high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food safety and customer service standards. What's in it for you? £13.05 per hour 40 hours per week Working 5 days over 7 Rotating early and late shifts Free on-site parking Discounted meals whilst on duty Access to our Employee Benefits app, including online GP access, Employee Assistance Programme, discounts, supermarket savings and more Life assurance and pension scheme Generous holiday entitlement with the option to buy additional leave Training and development opportunities Apprenticeship schemes available Career progression within a global organisation Supportive and inclusive working environment What you'll be doing Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals to specification Supporting breakfast, lunch, dinner, and hospitality services as required Ensuring food is produced in line with recipes, menus, and portion controls Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, allergen management, and kitchen cleanliness Assisting with stock control, stock rotation, and deliveries Completing food safety records and due diligence documentation Supporting the wider kitchen team to deliver an excellent customer experience Following all food safety, health & safety, and company procedures About you Previous experience working as a Chef in a busy catering environment Passion for food and producing high-quality meals Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements Ability to work effectively as part of a team Strong organisational and time-management skills Positive attitude and flexible approach to work Relevant catering qualifications are desirable Important Requirements Applicants must have lived in the UK for the past 3 years. Successful candidates will be required to pass security vetting and DBS checks prior to commencing employment. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK.
