Software Engineer - Cross-platform C++ - Multipass

Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer to enhance the open-source developer experience with Multipass, a tool that provides Ubuntu and appliance virtual machines on demand. The role involves daily tasks such as designing user experiences, writing high-quality code, and reviewing architecture as part of the engineering process. Candidates should have cross-platform development experience on macOS and/or Windows, along with expertise in modern C++ (C++14 or higher). Familiarity with software testing and test-driven development is also required, as well as a commitment to high standards in code quality and design. This position is fully remote, available only to candidates in the EMEA region. The role is suitable for individuals who enjoy collaborating with a distributed team and are willing to travel internationally for company events twice a year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering the open-source community and supporting users.
