UX Designer - Design systems

Canonical is seeking a UX Designer to join their Design System Team, focusing on enhancing the user experience of their open-source software. In this role, you will be responsible for building and evolving the design system, ensuring it is adopted consistently and is scalable and accessible across various products. Daily tasks include collaborating with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to create reusable components, patterns, and guidelines that reflect user needs and brand principles. You will also document UI components, design tokens, and interaction patterns while advocating for best practices in design systems. The position requires a strong understanding of design principles and experience in creating cohesive user experiences.
