As a Legal Counsel (m/f/diverse), you will be primarily responsible for providing legal support for ContiTech’s business operations in the EMEA Region (the “Region”) as part of the ContiTech law department.
The position involves providing independent legal advice and support to ContiTech’s business operations in the Region in all legal matters with a strong focus on Commercial and Contract Law, as well as collaboration with other members of ContiTech’s Global Law Department across the globe. A Legal Counsel will draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide variety of contracts/documents for ContiTech’s business operations in the Region, and will manage the relationship with external counsels.
Specifically, the legal services to be provided will include the following:
General legal advice:
Handling legal issues and advising on national and international matters of all ContiTech companies in the Region, embedded in a global team of lawyers
Identification and analysis of legal risks, development and implementation of solutions to avoid, limit or secure them.
Follow current legal developments.
Professional support of legal colleagues in other jurisdictions in the aforementioned area of responsibility.
Contracts:
Drafting, negotiation, review and interpretation of all contracts typical of companies (including contracts of particular strategic importance) in cooperation with the (operational) specialist departments / divisions in German and English, even in complex projects with outstanding importance and required expert knowledge
This includes both individual contractual provisions from specific business transactions and framework and standard contracts for new business transactions.
Comprehensive legal advice on ongoing contractual relationships, including national and international supply and service relationships.
Governance:
Reviewing, implementing and ensuring compliance with current and new legal developments and requirements, especially in the field of civil law
Ensuring the legality of business activities (laws, corporate standards)
Communication:
Exchange with business areas, other central functions and other stakeholders
Building understanding of each business strategy
Completed full law studies with above-average state examinations, or comparable qualification, preferably with study abroad
At least 3 - 7 years working experience at law firm(s) and/or in an in-house role
Economic understanding, business oriented and global mindset
An eye for practical solutions, proactive
Highly motivated work approach with strong results orientation
Confident handling of MS Office programs
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Flexibility
Strong teamwork skills
Very good communication skills and persuasiveness
