Davis School Chicago is seeking a part-time Theatre Teacher/Director to help establish its inaugural production. The role involves both directing and teaching, requiring a strong background in theatre, directing, and production. Candidates should hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Directing, or Theatre Education, with a Master’s preferred. A minimum of three years of teaching or directing experience is ideal, and an Illinois Professional Educator License in theatre or drama is preferred. While experience in a college-preparatory, independent, or faith-based school is advantageous, being Jewish is not a requirement for this position. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for theatre as a tool for building confidence and empathy in students. They should be warm, intellectually capable, and able to engage and inspire students effectively. This role is suited for individuals who thrive in a startup environment and are open to learning from their experiences. The position is part-time and will be based in Chicago, contributing to a new educational community set to open in 2027.
