Evolution is hiring a Tax Analyst in St. Julian’s, Malta to support tax compliance across its group entities in Malta and other countries. The role covers income tax, VAT and sales tax filings, residency and relief paperwork, tax accrual reviews, and wider tax and transfer pricing work, while also looking for ways to improve internal processes. Candidates should have a degree or ACCA-level background, around 2–3 years of relevant experience, and practical knowledge of Maltese tax compliance, with experience from a Big 4, law or audit firm, or industry. It will suit someone with strong English communication skills, an analytical mindset, and interest in AI, with gaming, digital business, or systems experience seen as an advantage.
The Tax Analyst will be providing tax support, with a focus on tax compliance, for all taxes relevant to Evolution’s group entities in Malta and abroad. The Tax Analyst will be part of Evolution’s Group Tax Team and work closely with Evolution’s Finance team. The position is based in Malta. Main Responsibilities: Assure that local and foreign income tax returns are filed in a timely matter, in co-operation with local chief accountants and external tax advisors. Work closely with the Malta Finance team on tax matters, incl. withholding taxes. Preparation and filing of tax residency certificates and double taxation relief forms. Support with filing local and foreign VAT and sales tax returns. Support with other tax filing obligations worldwide, including Pillar 2 notifications. Review of quarterly income tax accruals for local and foreign group entities. Support in other various tax and transfer pricing matters within the Group Tax function as determined from time to time. Identify opportunities to improve internal tax-related processes. Obtain good technical knowledge of tax issues within the Gaming and Tech Industry. University degree in Law, Finance or Accounting, or ACCA qualification (or working towards this qualification), or equivalent work-related experience in a global organisation. Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience from big 4, global law/audit firm and/or industry. Experience with Maltese income tax, tax reporting and tax compliance. Interested in AI and the use of AI for tax purposes. Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral. Proactive, resourceful, and hands-on with good initiative. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Professional, enthusiastic, and energetic. Bonus points if you have Experience from Gaming Industry and/or digital businesses. Good general accounting skills and experience with financial systems (Navision/Cognos).
