Staff Backend Engineer

Future PLC is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to contribute to their mission of creating a personalized guidance system for lifelong health. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing APIs for new products and features, as well as maintaining and optimizing existing systems with a focus on database performance. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with various engineering teams and product managers to ensure the scalability and infrastructure needed for different initiatives. The position requires a strong understanding of Go, AWS, and Docker, along with at least eight years of production development experience, particularly in backend and API work. Ideal candidates should possess a product-oriented mindset, considering user experience while balancing engineering quality with speed. The role is fully remote, making it suitable for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and can adapt to the dynamic nature of the work. Additionally, you will be expected to serve as an on-call engineer for about one week each month, addressing issues that arise outside of regular hours.
