Senior Customs Specialist

A well-established international freight forwarder and customs broker is looking for a Senior Customs Specialist to join their team in Schaumburg, IL. In this role, the specialist will be responsible for preparing and submitting customs entries, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, and providing excellent service throughout the import process. Daily tasks include reviewing documentation such as commercial invoices and bills of lading, classifying imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and coordinating with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as other government agencies. The position requires experience in customs brokerage or international freight forwarding, along with a strong understanding of CBP regulations and import documentation. Familiarity with ABI and customs brokerage software is essential, as is the ability to manage multiple entries with attention to detail. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building relationships with customers and internal teams.
