Linguist - Malagasy - UI Technical / Marketing - Remote

This remote contractor position involves localizing user interface elements, marketing campaigns, and e-commerce content into Malagasy. Daily tasks include adapting software documentation and product listings to ensure terminological accuracy and cultural relevance for native speakers. The role requires transforming global brand voices to resonate with local audiences while maintaining the original creative intent. Linguists must also perform quality assurance to uphold high standards of brand integrity and consistency across all deliverables. Collaboration with production and quality leads is essential to meet project deadlines and client specifications. Candidates need native-level proficiency in Malagasy. A graduate degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies is required, or a degree in another field combined with two years of full-time professional translation experience. Alternatively, five years of full-time professional translation experience satisfies the qualification criteria. Applicants must demonstrate proven experience in localizing marketing, UI, or e-commerce content. The ability to strictly follow terminology guides and reference materials is mandatory. Prior experience with app, mobile UI, social media, or web platform localization is preferred but not required. The working arrangement is fully remote, allowing independent contractors to manage their own schedules and workload flexibility.
