Accountant

Mathews CPA is recruiting an Accountant for its Lake Charles-area firm in Southwest Louisiana. The role supports about 40 to 50 small business clients with payroll, sales tax work, general ledger accounting, and upkeep of accounting systems. Applicants should have strong QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online skills, along with knowledge of payroll processing, payroll tax and reporting, sales tax compliance, and preparing financial statements for review. The firm is looking for someone with at least two years of accounting and office experience, preferably in public accounting, who can work on their own, meet deadlines, stay organized, and communicate well.
