Senior Propulsion Engineer
GermanyFull-timeDeadline:
This full-time position at a German rocketry startup involves leading solid rocket motor projects from initial requirements through to production-ready hardware. The role requires managing the entire lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, testing, and iteration, rather than focusing on isolated design tasks. Day-to-day work entails performing and reviewing analyses for internal ballistics, grain geometry, performance, nozzles, structures, and motor cases. You will coordinate design, assembly, instrumentation, static-fire testing, and post-test analysis while collaborating with chemistry and manufacturing teams to select appropriate materials and propellants. The position also involves preparing technical documentation, design reviews, test plans, and analysis reports, as well as supporting qualification, customer demonstrations, and the development of junior engineers. Candidates must hold a degree in aerospace, mechanical, chemical engineering, or a related discipline. The company is currently in stealth mode but actively launches suborbital and ballistic rockets while developing an orbital rocket. This role suits engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment with the autonomy to make and execute decisions quickly. It is ideal for those excited by hard technical challenges and eager to make a tangible daily impact on the company’s future. The employer is seeking someone who wants to see a product through to a working result.
