Rivermont Schools is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for their Roanoke, VA campus, which serves students aged 6 to 21 with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. In this role, you will provide daily instruction to small classes of 4 to 8 students, utilizing individualized lesson plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with IDEA, leading meetings with families and district representatives, and applying Positive Behavior Support strategies while collecting and analyzing behavioral and academic data. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field, along with an active Virginia Department of Education license in Special Education or the eligibility to obtain one within 90 days of hire. A minimum of one year of classroom experience with students who have autism, emotional behavioral disorders, or similar disabilities is required, and familiarity with IEP development and ABA principles is essential. A valid Virginia driver's license is also necessary.
