Senior Accountant

A growing organization in Wayne County, MI, is looking for a Senior Accountant to enhance its accounting team. This role offers significant visibility and involves working across various business channels, including retail, ecommerce, and wholesale. Daily responsibilities include supporting the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, preparing journal entries, and conducting complex balance sheet reconciliations. The position also requires analyzing gross margin, cost of goods sold, profitability, and variances, as well as performing budget-to-actual and financial trend analyses. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Supply Chain, and Financial Planning & Analysis, while identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation. Candidates should have over four years of relevant accounting or audit experience and hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation or public accounting experience is highly preferred, along with strong knowledge of GAAP and advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems is also beneficial.
