Software Mind is seeking a detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer to join a growing QA team at one of our clients. In this role, you will work closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the quality and reliability of software products — identifying issues, testing new features, and maintaining high standards across the platform. You will join as the third member of a two-person QA team, contributing to the full software development life cycle. The role requires working in the CT (Central Time) time zone. Main Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications. Identify, document, and track bugs, ensuring they are resolved effectively. Perform manual and automated testing to ensure optimal performance and user experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and implement testing strategies. Write and maintain end-to-end automated tests using Playwright or similar frameworks. Use AI tools responsibly as an assistant — not a replacement — for human-authored and human-understood code. Continuously improve QA processes, frameworks, and best practices. Stay up-to-date with emerging QA tools and industry trends. Requirements: +90% English written and oral (B2 level minimum) — strong communication is essential. 2+ years of QA experience, including hands-on work with E2E automation frameworks (Playwright preferred; Cypress, Maestro, Appium, or Selenium also considered). Ability to write and maintain automated tests with clean, readable structure. Some coding experience in JavaScript, Ruby, Python, or similar — comfortable writing functions and structuring projects. Experience working with GitHub or similar version control tools. Strong communication skills: ability to write clear bug reports, reproduction steps, test cases, and root cause analysis. Experience working on projects throughout the full software development life cycle. Experience using JIRA or other bug tracking / project management tools. Nice to Have: Experience with Postman or API testing. Familiarity with fintech or regulated software environments. Experience working in small, agile QA teams.
