Principal Experience Designer - Visual Design & Design Systems

Workiva is seeking a Principal Experience Designer to lead the visual design of its enterprise design system, Unify. This remote, full-time position involves spending 60-70% of the time on evolving Unify’s visual language, including typography, color, and iconography, while the remaining 30-40% focuses on high-profile visual projects for conferences and marketing. The role requires strong visual design skills, systems thinking, and an understanding of how design systems can adapt to AI-assisted design and prototyping. Daily tasks include collaborating with various teams to ensure consistent application of visual design across products, maintaining a scalable token architecture, and creating reference designs that illustrate best practices. The designer will also be responsible for developing clear documentation for intended use and quality standards. This position is ideal for someone with a robust background in visual design and experience in design systems, looking to influence a significant aspect of Workiva's product experience.
