Staff Security Operations Engineer

Canonical is hiring senior and staff Security Operations Engineers to join a new team reporting to the CISO, working remotely. The role focuses on building and improving security operations for Canonical’s internal systems, build processes, and product deployments, with an emphasis on automated detection, containment, and response to threats. It suits experienced security professionals who can handle complex adversaries, as well as exceptional candidates with strong academic or early-career records and a clear interest in cyber attack and defence. The team also contributes to the security of Ubuntu and the wider open source ecosystem through technical work, knowledge sharing, and engagement with the community.
