Senior Data Engineer with SAP BW and Snowflake, Retail Platform

This full-time position involves migrating selected datasets from SAP BW to Snowflake to support a large international consumer goods company. The role focuses on building a data platform that powers AI-driven analytics for sales, retail, and e-commerce teams. You will work closely with a new Engineering Manager to establish engineering standards, operating models, and delivery practices. The objective is to coach the client’s team toward independent, high-performing delivery within approximately one year. This requires a very senior, hands-on Data Engineer with strong expertise in both SAP BW and Snowflake. Candidates must have prior experience leading engineering teams to effectively mentor the client staff. The job demands a valid US visa or the ability to secure one quickly. The role requires on-site presence in Southern California for the initial four to six weeks to build trust with the team. Following this period, you will continue working on-site several days per week. This opportunity suits a seasoned technical leader who excels at knowledge transfer and coaching-by-doing. The goal is to reduce long-term vendor dependency by empowering the internal team to manage their own platform operations.
