Audio Engineering (Freelance)

ElevenLabs is hiring a freelance audio engineering role on its remote Productions team, which supports creators and media companies with managed audio services. The work involves building and improving custom voices, cleaning and preparing client audio for cloning and generation, guiding customers on the platform, and contributing to audio-quality review tasks. Applicants should have 3 to 5+ years in audio engineering or a related area, be comfortable with DAWs such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic, or Ableton, and be able to work with clients and technical partners. ABOUT THE ROLE Productions is the 'done for you' managed services wing of ElevenLabs made for creators and media businesses. We bring together our AI audio tools and human experts to unlock human-edited dubs, audiobooks, and more in 15+ languages directly on the ElevenLabs platform. Here are a few recent projects Productions has helped bring to life: - Dubbing for some of the world's biggest creators (DudePerfect, Lex Fridman, Andrew Huberman) and media businesses - Audiobook production for leading publishers and digital storytelling platforms - Voice creation, sound design, and other audio engineering services for ElevenLabs' largest customers - You can learn more about Productions here: https://elevenlabs.io/productions AS AN AUDIO ENGINEER, YOU WILL: - Create, refine, and iterate on custom voices for ElevenLabs customer using different techniques - Clean, edit, and prepare customer audio to ensure optimal cloning and generation quality - Provide hands-on training and technical guidance on ElevenLabs tools and best practices - Work on Audio Quality rated labeling projects REQUIREMENTS - 3–5+ years experience in audio engineering, sound design, mixing/mastering, or related fields - Experience working directly with clients, creative teams, or technical stakeholders - Strong proficiency with DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic, Ableton) - Deep intuition for voice characteristics, timbre, clarity, and performance nuance - Ability to translate ambiguous customer needs into clear audio and voice-design solutions - Strong organizational discipline for operating within a time-based service model LOCATION This role is remote and can be executed globally We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability or other legally protected statuses.
